Advisory: Turkey Changes its Official Name to Türkiye
The United States Council for International Business (USCIB), the national guaranteeing and issuing association for the ATA Carnet in the U.S. announced that Turkey has officially changed its name to Türkiye. Additionally, the new name of Türkiye’s National Guaranteeing Association is now Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB).
This change does not affect the ATA Carnets which are currently in use.
The new name of the country and its national guaranteeing association will be indicated in the Carnet green cover sheets.
The ATA Carnet is an internationally accepted customs document for temporarily exported merchandise, goods, or professional equipment and allows cross border movement of goods import-duty and -tax free into any of the 87+ carnet countries and territories for up to a year. Türkiye accepts the ATA Carnet for commercial samples, professional equipment and trade fairs and exhibitions.
