Updated Special Notice: Greater Facility for ATA Carnets in Israel

We just received notification from the United States Council for International Business (USCIB) regarding the extension of the final date of re-exportation for all foreign ATA Carnets that are currently in Israel and their expiry date is between October 8, 2023 and December 31, 2023.
 

EFFECTIVE AS OF OCTOBER 24, 2023

Notification has been received from the United States Council for International Business (USCIB) regarding ATA Carnets that have entered Israel with expiration dates between October 8, 2023, and December 31, 2023.

Per notification from the World Customs Federation, be advised that:

Considering the challenges faced by foreign ATA Carnet holders for the re-exportation of goods under the current situation, the Israeli Customs have agreed to extend the final date of re-exportation for all foreign ATA Carnets that are currently in Israel and their expiry date is between October 8, 2023 and December 31, 2023.

  • For each carnet, the time limit of re-exportation will be automatically extended for an additional three (3) months from its expiry date.
     
  • This extension applies to all foreign carnets provided that (1) the goods are currently in Israel, (2) the original time limit of re-exportation is between October 8, 2023 and December 31, 2023.
  • There is no need to send any letter to apply for such greater facility.
     
  • The above facilitation will not apply to ATA Carnet that already received an extension in the past. For goods currently in Israel under the cover of replacement carnets, if the replacement carnets’ expiration date is between October 8, 2023 and December 31, 2023, the extension will be considered case by case, please contact your boomerang carnets® Specialist for assistance.
  • Holders should re-export the goods within the extended time period. No more extensions will be given.
